Upgrade reference (SharePoint Server 2010)

Applies to: SharePoint Server 2010

Find IDs for default templates, features, and content types in Office SharePoint Server 2007 or Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 so you can identify them in your environment before upgrade.

The pre-upgrade checker returns a list of all site definitions, site templates, features, and language packs that are installed in the farm. Although the report lists the IDs for these elements, it might be difficult to identify an ID that maps to a specific named template or feature. Likewise, when you create an inventory of your environment to prepare for upgrade, you can easily get the IDs for these elements, but you might have problems mapping them to the names.

The attached worksheet contains the IDs for the following elements in Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and Windows SharePoint Services 3.0:

  • Feature IDs

  • Site Template IDs

  • Content Type IDs

  • List Template IDs

Download the worksheet at: Feature Template and Content Type ID Reference

For a list of all Web Parts that Office SharePoint Server 2007 and Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 contain by default, see Maurice Prather’s blog post Web Part Type IDs for SharePoint 2003, 2007 and 2010 (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkId=241369).
