Back up and recover the DPM server and database

Applies To: System Center 2012 SP1 - Data Protection Manager, System Center 2012 R2 Data Protection Manager
In addition to configuring System Center 2012 – Data Protection Manager (DPM) to protect file and workload data, you’ll need to back up the DPM servers themselves to protect:
The DPM database
All local volumes and application data on the DPM server
All replicas on the DPM server that are directly protected by that DPM server
