HP is announcing broader support for Windows Autopilot, a new Windows 10 feature which helps customers enable automatic Windows device configuration out of the box. This will include HP Devices manufactured after January 1, 2018, running Windows 10 Professional, Enterprise or Education editions v1709 or later.
Windows Autopilot addresses one of the most significant pain points facing IT administrators – delivering a corporate-managed, “work-ready” image for new and refreshed devices. With Windows Autopilot, users need only to boot their machine, connect to a network and verify their credentials. Autopilot will then activate the customer’s Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution to automatically configure device settings and load applications without additional intervention from either the user or IT.
HP launched support for Windows Autopilot in May 2018 and currently supports numerous global customers with Autopilot enablement. HP is now openly accepting requests for evaluation of Windows Autopilot on HP devices.
Organizations seeking to register and use Windows Autopilot must have the following:
· Azure AD Premium (P1 or P2) subscription
· Microsoft Intune, VMware Workspace ONE or another Autopilot-compatible MDM solution
· Devices which use Autopilot must have a connection to the Internet, and access to the appropriate Microsoft Azure AD infrastructure.
