edX Joins as Learning Platform in Microsoft Viva

As part of the platform, edX will be integrated with Microsoft Teams to deliver on-demand learning opportunities in the flow of work

Cambridge, MA - edX is thrilled to announce that we are a part of the new Microsoft Viva, an integrated, insights-driven employee experience platform that brings together communications, knowledge, learning and workplace insights.

As part of Microsoft Viva, edX content is available to employees of companies that use Microsoft Teams, as part of a central hub for learning where people can share, assign, and learn from content libraries across the organization. Employees can access high-quality, low cost edX courses and programs from top universities and companies by clicking through to edX.org from Microsoft Viva. Corporations can also now contract for bulk licenses for seats in edX self paced, asynchronous certificate track courses through Teams.

“At edX, we believe the skills gap is a challenge that goes far beyond job creation and training and development – it touches on a broader social responsibility that companies have to their employees and the communities in which they operate,” said Adam Medros, edX co-CEO and President. “Our collaboration with Microsoft Viva Learning puts the life changing tool of education into the hands of millions more potential learners that can transform their careers and lives with this knowledge, and companies that can empower them to do so.”

“Creating a positive employee experience is increasingly a key focus of the C-suite, and a big part of that is fostering a culture of learning,” said Chuck Friedman, CVP, Employee Experience at Microsoft Corp. “With the launch of Microsoft Viva, we are bringing learning directly to workers, putting people and teams at the center. Integration with key partners will add robust content libraries and bring learning into employees’ flow of work.”

Thousands of other businesses, including top Fortune 100 companies, and tens of millions of learners worldwide trust edX to deliver the education that powers their workforce transformation and reskilling efforts through edX For Business. Developing programs and credentials that help people quickly, flexibly, and affordably gain the knowledge and skills they need to unlock new and bigger opportunities is in edX's DNA. Our goal is to offer meaningful solutions for those who need flexible, affordable and relevant education the most, and this collaboration with Microsoft Viva is an exciting new avenue to achieve that goal.
